There are some questions in life that will forever remain unanswered.
Why do bad things happen to good people? Why did Superman wear his jocks outside of his tights?
But there are certain questions that could properly be answered either way, yet can also tear families apart. Sounds dangerous.
The question we’re debating here today is: Are sausages for dinner or are they for breakfast?
I, personally, admit to having had both in my life. And I’m 100% certain I’m not the only one.
The humble sausage had the potential to be maybe the most versatile meat, treat and food group there is. You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, in a sandwich, in pastry and even stuff your pizza crust with them.
And while they’re all admirable ways to sustain yourself, the experts say that starting your day the wurst way is actually the best way. Let me explain.
Researchers say a full Irish breakfast is better for the heart, waistline and blood pressure than the carbohydrate-heavy cereals, breads and pastries you would normally associate with breakfast.
It is thought that a fried breakfast sets up the metabolism right for the rest of the day, making it easier to burn off other meals and snacks.
Indeed, the old saying to a healthy lifestyle goes – ‘eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper’, and kicking your day off with a fatty, protein filled meal such as a few sausages certainly fits into that criteria.
It seems getting the heavier foods into your system nice and early sets you right up for the day, giving you optimum amounts of energy, and lessening your chance of sugary snacking in the shirt term.
Not to mention the long term effects including, and are not limited to, weight loss, ease processing sugar and lowering a risk of diabetes.
Of course, who are we to judge?
